I have joined the editorial board of ACM Transactions on Recommender Systems as an Associate Editor.

I gave the keynote address for the IR4U2 workshop at ECIR 2024.

We have 2 papers accepted to the IR for Good track at ECIR 2024. One led by Amifa Raj on fair grid layouts and another with Sole Pera, Henriette Cramer, and Lex Beattie on consumer-side impacts.

My student Ngozi Ihemelandu's paper on multiple comparison corrections for recommender system evaluation has been accepted as a short paper for ECIR 2024.

Alexandra Olteanu, Carlos Castillo, Jina Suh, and I argue in a new preprint and blog post that RAI research needs impact statements.

I am giving seminar talks this fall at CMU HCII (Nov. 9) and Clemson (Dec. 7).

We will present two papers in the REVEAL workshop at RecSys 2018. One describes the LKPY software, and the other (by my student Mucun Tian) presents his work in progress on quantifying evaluation errors. We have a third paper in the ComplexRec workshop on the LITERATE project.

I am receiving the NSF CAREER award to fund my work on responsible recommendation.

I am helping to organize FairUMAP, the first workshop on fairness in user modeling. Papers are due April 18, please submit!

I have had two papers accepted for publication in FAT*, the Conference on Fairness, Acccountability, and Transparency. One is with Sole Pera and the PIReTs on demographic bias in recommender effectiveness, and the other with Hoda Mehrpouyan and her student Rezvan Joshaghani on fair privacy protections.

I am participating in the Dagstuhl Perspectives Workshop Towards Performance Modeling and Performance Prediction across IR/RecSys/NLP.

I am serving as General Co-chair for ACM RecSys 2018 with Sole Pera.

I have a poster at RecSys 2017 and a position paper in KidRec. The PIReTs are also doing several things.

I am giving a number of talks in Belgium and the Netherlands in June. I hope to see some of you there.

The first FATREC Workshop on Responsible Recommendation, which I am organizing with Amit Sharma, will be held at RecSys 2017 in Como, Italy.

I will be presenting one full and one short paper in the recommender systems track at FLAIRS in May, 2017.
